Our story

We are a small tavern located a few streets behind the old Venetian harbor of Heraklion. Thanks to a flexible roof and windows, our small tavern can be used in both the cold of winter and the blazing heat of the sun.

Taverna Germaniki grew out of a friendship spanning more than ten years between two colleagues who reunited on Crete to pursue their shared passion for the culinary arts. Both fell instantly in love with the island and never wanted to leave. Today, we aim to bring you a taste of Germany alongside some Greek classics.
